Onyx, 2 years old harlequin beauceron, is available for adoption.

What his owner says about him :

Onyx is nice with everyone, he's a sweetheart. However, He has so much energy that I wouldn't place him in a home with very young children, unless the owner is very knowledgeable about how to handle him.

He loves to please, he's very motivated to work for toys or food. He enjoys dog sports (and would love to do more); snow scooters, Frisbee, rally, scent detection are all things I've done with him. He seems to have a good instinct for herding, I think he'd like that.

He loves to go hiking/ snowshoeing in the forest. He stays close to me, even off leash. He has an excellent recall, even with distractions. He loves swimming, pulling toys, the ball, or retrieving toys.

Health

Weight : 90 lb
Vaccines : up to date on all vaccines (basic, rabies and kennel cough).

No health problems, allergies or other. He does, however, suffer from car sickness and can become ill on trips of 1 hour or more. Because of this, he doesn't like the car very much, but gets in by himself on request.

Reason for replacement:

Onyx is very energetic and doesn't always respect the bubble of the other dog in the house, a 5-year-old male, which has led to fights between the two dogs since the older one tolerates him less.

Additional information:

Energy level: Very High

He Gets along well with children, male and female dogs (however, due to the fights that took place with the other male in the house, I'm looking for a family without a male in the household). He's also used to cats

He stays free in the house when he's alone, without any problems. He's also used to the crate.

He knows his basic commands: sit, down, stay, give and he walks on a leash without pulling.
